Embrace Your Inner Wisdom

The world has more information at our disposal than ever before.  This information has created wonders in society, but for people has also created confusion.  Some of this confusion is based on the constant search outside ourselves for answers, and not looking inside of ourselves for what we already know.

Because of this we tend to forget what we know inside.  This concept of “embracing your inner wisdom” is about getting in touch with what you already have inside you.   Profit from your own wisdom and protect yourself from the stress of information overload and never-ending to-do lists.  It can also protect you from your harshest critic – your own mind.  How often do we tell ourselves that we are doing it wrong, or are not doing enough of the right things?

Give yourself permission to stop collecting tidbits of information like some never endless to-do list.  Let your internal guide be your ally and not your personal punisher by embracing your inner wisdom.

Chiropractic is founded on the principle of freeing the body’s communication of innate wisdom.  Once we see how valuable our inner wisdom is – and not only in our minds but also our bodies – it gets easier knowing how to act out those truths in the real world. And when we do, life gets simpler and easier.  Like the ease of things that, by their design – like a chiropractic adjustment – work to restore our body’s natural healing capacity – and inner wisdom.

“Don’t Make Your Chiropractor Say ‘Yikes!’

Avoid disaster with your body by avoiding those moments when you unwittingly put yourself in truly terrible postures and positions – the ones that stress all of your soft tissue parts that hold you together.  In other words, ligaments, soft tissue of the joints, and discs, and on and on.  These are the moments when your chiropractor, if he were to walk into the room, would grimace and cringe to see you undoing all of their good efforts.

For example, when you work hard at the gym for an hour and then hop mindlessly onto the couch looking at your mobile device with your head on the arm of the couch, forcing your neck forward into a 90 degree angle.  Times like these that turn ‘break time’ into total disaster.

And too often, these moments are the ones we don’t even notice when we are doing them.  Help your chiropractor help you. Be present with your body and you will find that you are able to spot many of the times when you may be your own worst enemy.  And the best way to do this is start by avoiding the bottom 20% of your absolute worst habits.  These moments are too often avoidable, and are what keep people from getting the full benefits of their good work.

So keep your chiropractor – and your body – happy.  Use your own self-awareness as a tool and you will be able to make sure you are getting the most benefits out of their work.
